Green Paths Education CIC weekly round up

Monday

Monday evening's session for teenagers, aged 13-17, was a socialising group with various activities available from 6pm to 7:30pm. The key aim of the group was to build a community, and the evening included American themed campfire cooking with Sarah, where we made s'mores. We also built and lit our own campfire and explored our new location. Additionally, we had an art session in the sunshine and learned how to make friendship bracelets. This evening was a great opportunity for teenagers to come together, socialise, and participate in fun and meaningful activities.

Wednesday

After school on Wednesday, the club welcomed three new excited students and had a fun time in the sun. This week's activities focused on finding ways to have fun in our environment using only an old bed sheet and three art hoops, and the students did not disappoint. We did nature art using items from a scavenger hunt, had races with our tires, climbed trees, identified plants, looked after our bug hotel, played hide and seek, and collected hedgehog pine cones. We also enjoyed a double game of finding bluebells and playing gruffy. It was a great day of outdoor fun and creativity for everyone involved.

Friday

Every Friday, the home education group gathers to welcome students aged 4-16. This week, we started our lesson by building a shelter and then exploring our environment and reading books. We also got creative and made bugs out of clay, as well as bird feeders using natural resources. We had a fascinating lesson on crows and even had a zip wire lesson, where the students built and experimented with different materials. It was a great opportunity for them to learn what works well and what doesn't. We also had fun adding a basket to carry things up and down the zip wire. Lastly, we enjoyed some conversation around the campfire. The students had a great time and learned a lot from this hands-on experience.

In all we had an awsome week and would just like to say a massive thank you from myself and the rest of the Green Paths team. We look forward to seeing what next week will bring.
