Our Mission
Who Are We and Why Were We Created?
Our Values
Green Paths Education CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company offering high-quality, inclusive outdoor education experiences across the UK. Founded by experienced practitioners, we were created to provide safe, nurturing, and nature-rich environments for children, young people, and families—especially those who may not thrive in traditional educational settings. We specialise in alternative provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, helping each learner feel empowered, engaged, and understood. Green Paths exists to bring people together, support emotional resilience, and reconnect communities through meaningful time in nature.
Green Paths Education CIC provides a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of children, families, and communities, including those facing barriers to learning or wellbeing. We offer:
Forest School & Outdoor Learning – Nature-based sessions for home-educated learners, schools, and early years groups
Alternative Provision Placements – Tailored, therapeutic support for children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs
Family and Community Wellbeing Programs – Outdoor workshops, nature walks, and shared learning for families
Support for Military Families – Including place-based provision within MOD communities
Bushcraft, Outdoor Cooking & Traditional Skills – Hands-on seasonal workshops that build confidence and resilience
Mindfulness & Nature-Based Wellbeing – Forest therapy and grounding practices to support mental health
Youth Development Opportunities – Life skills, volunteering, and outdoor leadership pathways for older children and teens
Community Engagement Projects – Events and partnerships that bring people together in shared green spaces
We work closely with local authorities, social care teams, schools, charities, and parents to co-design supportive, flexible provision that truly meets individual needs. Our work is rooted in trauma-informed practice, accessibility, and a belief that everyone deserves the chance to flourish.
Our mission is to provide inclusive, therapeutic, and enriching outdoor learning experiences that promote well-being, build confidence, and foster lifelong connections with the natural world. We aim to work in close partnership with families, local authorities, schools, and charitable organisations to ensure that every individual, regardless of background or need, has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive outdoor environment.
The Benefits of Being Outside in Nature
Everything we do is grounded in values that reflect our commitment to inclusion, care, and community:
Compassion – We meet every child, family, and partner with empathy and understanding.
Inclusion – We champion accessibility for all, with particular expertise in working with SEND and SEMH needs.
Connection – We nurture meaningful connections to nature, self, and community.
Trust – We create safe, predictable, and supportive spaces where individuals feel valued and respected.
Growth – We believe in personal development through gentle risk-taking, exploration, and reflection.
Collaboration – We work alongside parents, educators, and local services to provide wraparound, consistent support.
What We Support
Time spent in nature has transformative benefits for all, particularly for those with additional needs. Our natural outdoor settings reduce anxiety, support emotional regulation, and provide a calming, sensory-rich environment that enhances focus and engagement. Movement, fresh air, and open-ended play are essential for healthy development—physically, emotionally, and cognitively. Children who struggle with classroom-based learning often find success, joy, and confidence in outdoor environments where they can learn through doing, explore at their own pace, and feel a sense of belonging.
For families and communities, these spaces also offer connection, shared experience, and a reminder of the simple but powerful impact of slowing down and being present in the natural world.

About us
A Message to Funders and Partners
Your support helps us do more than run sessions—it enables transformation. With your investment, we can expand our reach, train more practitioners, develop tailored programs, and remove the financial and logistical barriers that often prevent vulnerable children and families from accessing nature-based education. We welcome partnerships with those who share our vision of a more inclusive, nature-connected future, where every child feels they belong and can shine.
